Mr.Knockout Does It Again

Thepnimit Sitmonchai AKA "Mr. Knockout" unstables the highly rank  Ninsiam with body shots and leg kicks. Thepnimit in my opinion is pound for pound the most explosive and powerful fighter out of SitMonchai Gym (1).

Engraving Method: Long Guard-Elbow

This is the 2nd part to my new Engraving Method series. For this part I broke down Italy's Sindy Huyer's (1) use of the long guard-elbow against France's Laurene Pumpanmuang (2).

Muay Thai Doesn't Have Good Hands?

Go ahead and use my gloves.
Some fight fans are comparing boxing's punching methods and standard tactics against Muay Thai. Making the sweeping assumption that Muay Thai fighters don't have good hands (punching techniques).
One can generalize that some of boxing's technical cues e.g., torque from the legs and hips, can transfer well to all striking combat sports. Unfortunately not all of boxing's basics should be adopted for Muay Thai.

Being a punch only sport, The sweet science does have a lot to offer if one wants to optimize their punching mechanics. Unfortunately, some of those mechanical principals can get you in trouble. For example, western boxing's basic stance (1). I'm not saying it's impossible to fight Muay Thai in a boxing stances but your chances of getting leg kicked or swept will dramatically increase.

Thoughts on Raja Fight Vs Daniel Hadfield Sept/1/13

Sept 1st 2013 Rajadamnerm Stadium
I fought Daniel Hadfield (England) from 13 Coins Gym. He fought one of my team mates about a month ago and supposedly from what my team mates were saying it was a pretty even match until Hadfield KOed him in the 4th round with knees to the body. My coach thought we would make a great match up, so he booked us to fight on Sept 1st, Raja Stadium at 74 kg (163 lbs).

Deloading for Fight Training

Green means GO, GO, GO!
I'm schedule to fight at Lumphini July 13th at 74 kg. I'm currently weighing a chubby 80.6 kg, which I'm planning to lose at a steady rate so as to not suffer with a sauna suit. As of now I'm using this week up until June 24th for maintenance training or commonly known to weight lifters as deload week (1).

Blistered Knuckle Care. Part 1

Windex and drank me some Tussin
Think you're in the wrong sport because a little blister is holding you back? The constant pounding can cause a series of pain, besides the thumb you jammed while mimicking Chuck Lidell's punch. Keep in mind you are causing trauma to your hands. This can eventually lead to other injuries such as boxers fracture, inflammation, or tears to ligaments and cartilage. Compared to fractures and tears, blisters seem like a blessing but, the sharp sting of pain can ruin your punching form, which can possibly create bad habits.

Rinsing as a Pre Workout Snack Hack?

If you're looking for a quick pre workout snack you might benefit from rinsing your mouth with carbs. 30-15 mins prior to training you basically should ingest straight up simple carbs. Unless you're into having a full belly while training & farting your way through a session.

Negative Visions

Shadow boxing before a fight
Imagining your performance a few days before your fight can help you keep those nerves at bay but, what about the negative thoughts that creep up every now and then? Should you just brush them away or accept them?
