VIDEO: 1 Minute Motivation. Fight or Flight.

I was watching a bunch of fight videos on Youtube the other night. I came across Thepnimit's recent Raja fight from last month (April 9 2014). I saw it in person and man was it nuts! By far the best display of heart and power I've ever seen live. I decided to make a short motivational video out of it and if I get a good response from people, I will make it into a series.

Join the winning team

Watching your favorite team or athlete win can increase testosterone production. I doubt it'll raise it to Incredible Hulk status, but it's still a boost none the less.

In both studies, mean testosterone level increased in the fans of winning teams and decreased in the fans of losing teams. These findings suggest that watching one's heroes win or lose has physiological consequences that extend beyond changes in mood and self-esteem. -PubMed

Testosterone boost confidence, strength, and recovery. Watching a few highlights of your favorite fighters before training might give you an edge on your performance. I'm sure there are holes and flaws someone can pick out from this study (the fact they use saliva swabs to test T levels) but, it still makes sense for us to capitalize off of this study and gain an advantage while risking nothing. Except for wasted time lagging if you have a crappy WiFi connection.

The motivational video might look completely lopsided but, that wasn't my intentions. Thepnimit took some serious damage in the 1st round and I really wanted to highlight the giant elbows he absorbed. He came back in the 2nd round with stronger flurries and vicious kicks. I also posted the full length fight for those of you who are interested. The original video was filmed by Timo Ruge of  Muay Ties. Like his Facebook page for up to the hour videos of Thailands biggest fights.
